Job Description
Position: Full-Time Service Supervisor
Location: The Hideout, Scarborough, UK
Rate: £14-15 per hour.
Eligibility: Strictly over 18s only, must be eligible to work in the UK.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Guest Experience Management
• Act as the primary point of contact for guests during service, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience from arrival to departure.
• Lead by example in providing attentive, personalised service, resolving any guest concerns swiftly and professionally.
• Monitor guest feedback (in-person and online) to identify areas for improvement and consistently work to exceed guest expectations.
2. Shift Leadership
• Oversee the restaurant's daily operations, manage a team of customer hosts, and ensure smooth service across the 60+ indoor covers, 15+ outdoor covers, and online orders via JustEat.
• Allocate tasks and manage the floor to ensure efficient service during peak times, ensuring that tables are turned over quickly without sacrificing quality of service.
• Ensure staff adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards, maintaining a clean and organised front-of-house environment.
3. Team Morale & Mentorship
• Act as a role model for customer hosts, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to the customer hosts, helping them develop their skills and grow in their roles.
• Encourage open communication, address staff concerns, and maintain morale, especially during busy periods.
• Lead team briefings before shifts to ensure clear expectations and smooth operations.
4. Service Delivery
• Actively participate in the service by taking orders, running food, and preparing drinks, ensuring that guests’ needs are met promptly and accurately.
• Upsell and cross-sell menu items, utilising your product knowledge to recommend dishes, drinks, and specials, maximising sales opportunities.
• Assist in harvesting online reviews by engaging with guests to encourage feedback and guide them through leaving reviews on platforms such as Google, TripAdvisor and JustEat.
5. Operational Excellence
• Handle cash and manage daily sales reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
• Monitor stock levels, place orders, and communicate with suppliers as needed to ensure that the bar and dining areas are always well-stocked.
• Liaise closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient communication between the front and back of house, especially during peak service periods.
• Supervise the potwash area to ensure cleanliness and efficiency, coordinating with the kitchen and customer hosts to maintain smooth operations.
6. Event & Function Management
• Aid in the planning and executing events, including quiz nights, theme nights, and private functions, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
• Collaborate with the restaurant manager and kitchen team to create unique event menus and coordinate logistics.
• Ensure that the FOH and BOH are aligned on service delivery and timing during events.

• Problem-solving: Think on your feet and resolve issues quickly and diplomatically.
• Sales savvy: Confidence in upselling and cross-selling, driving revenue without being pushy.
• Tech-savvy: Comfortable using POS systems, online order platforms (e.g. JustEat), and managing online reviews.
